Custom Order

Let's build something that fits.

Pick the form that matches what you need. Every order starts with a prototype in low-cost PLA to confirm fit — it's yours to keep either way — before we move to the final build in your chosen material. A 50% deposit gets things started.

How pricing works. Every quote is calculated from four real inputs: filament cost (materials vary widely — PETG, ASA, carbon-fiber reinforced, glass-fiber reinforced, and nylon are all priced differently), print time (larger parts and finer quality settings take longer), energy consumption, and design time. Simple items that already exist as designs cost less, because the design work is already done. Fully custom one-offs include design time at $50/hr, with a one-hour minimum.

Quantity matters. Small items get significantly cheaper per unit in multiples — the energy and setup cost of a print run barely changes whether the plate holds one part or twenty-five, so most of that saving gets passed along. If you want several of something, ask; the per-item price usually drops.

You'll always get a firm quote before any work begins, and a 50% deposit starts the job.

Please note: Stuff for Sailors products are designed for gear storage, organization, and convenience — not for mission-critical or life-safety use. They are not a substitute for certified rigging, safety equipment, or any application where failure could put someone at risk. 3D-printed parts can fail under load or over time, and should never be relied upon in a situation where that failure would be dangerous.

Pricing: quoted per rack once we know board count, sizes, and mounting details. Calculated from filament cost, print time, energy use, and any design time — material choice (PETG, ASA, carbon-fiber, glass-fiber, or nylon) affects the final number. Firm quote before anything starts.

On the Horizon — Remote & Offshore Support

A solid fix, to get you home after "it" breaks.

Find yourself in a remote anchorage after a tough passage with a broken sheave, fairlead, clam cleat, stanchion base, or the like? Send a photo or the broken part itself, and I can scan it or design an acceptable placeholder — printed and ready to get you back in action.

Not the end-all part. The right-now part — a solid stand-in that holds until you can get to a proper chandlery. Use the Custom Project form above and describe the break — mention it's a get-you-home request so it's handled with the right urgency.
